2001 Space Odyssey : An awe inspiring movie?

2001 Space Odyssey is a science fiction classic created in 1968 and directed by Stanley Kubrick. Space Odyssey used many actors and orchestras to create the futuristic movie. Space Odyssey was a first of its kind, the first spoken word is almost a half hour into the film, and there's less than 40 minutes of dialogue in the entire film, so much of the film is dead silence. The movie stared Keir Dullea as Dr. Dave Bowman who was sent around to the space station. Throughout the movie many people may not pick up on it but, the movie was meant to inspire awe of the future more than entertain.
My first opinion of this film was boring. I couldn't stand quiet monkey noises and confusing plots that don't come into play later. This movie to me was nothing but stuff floating in space played along with classical music. This has been the case since it first came out. I did my research and found that most people did not like this film when it came out. Supporting my ideas is Roger Ebert from Chicago Sun-Times. He states "This is the work of an artist so sublimely confident that he doesn't include a single shot simply to keep our attention", is it how I felt while watching the movie from start to finish. At the beginning there was a big flat rock that inspired evolution of monkeys using tools and getting smarter. After this I couldn't follow the advanced plot about how the magic rock inspired evolution and how it somehow got on an uninhabited planet when humans live on a different planet. I have to assume that earth was uninhabitable in 2001 which we all know is not true since its 2009 now heh.
When watching the movie I did find something to laugh at although others may have not seen the humor in it since it was hard to pay attention. I loved how the actors playing the monkeys at the beginning played monkeys really well and there was some humor in how they beat up another monkey then ran away scared if it. Also many people would not pick up on this but, the bathroom had a list of rules about two pages long, this was also funny. If you want comedy in a movie you can almost find it in every movie you watch depending on the person. Jim Watters from Boxoffice Magazine had this to say, " 2001: A Space Odyssey is that this production is an overwhelming visual experience, supplemented by an imaginative use of all the divergent elements which go into filmmaking", some critics and people who love artistic films would like this movie but other all the average person thinks of this film is mediocre.
In conclusion the move 2001 A Space Odyssey had its good and bad moments, bad out weighing the good in my opinion. There are many people who do like this movie how ever so if there is to be any reason to question what I have stated please go see the movie and see if it's to your liking or disliking.

There will always be people that love something and thoughs who hate the same thing. In the reading that was assinged the parents from all diffrent parts of the world had diffrent views on different shows and movies. When the shows had religion in them people got mad, when it had sextual induendos people got mad. when ever something new appears people will find something wrong with it. Nothing can ever be perfect because people see things as flawed it just our nature.

2nd week of Reflecting on our groups

This week we went to the library and one of our members was late. We decided to split the website into sections we could all work on. I personaly liked to make pictures, so I created a picture out of what my group wanted. After that I put some basic info on one of the pages and let my partners go to town on it, as I thought it was completly changed. This group is working out to be fun and productive.

Website with group.....FUN.....

During this week of fun exciting website making I found its not so easy to find a topic that everyone in your group enjoys. With my group for example, some of us liked sports and running around while the other liked shopping and cloths. This made things hard to decide. I decided to cut myself out of deciding to make it easyer and they decided on Credit Cards. We narrowed the main points we are going to cover to five thanks to the helpful teacher. She gives out hard assinments but, she is very helpful when the class is working on them. When the weekend came around we all agreed to meet at the naked lady in the library. Don't think about bad things its a statue. When we got to the libray we quickly went to the computers and started to stock pile info, while I looked at clips on youtube to put on the site my other partners where looking for text info and one was writing our maditory group review for the teacher. When this is all done we all spit up and go hope for the night. When class came around again we completed the layout of our GREAT website....I hope.

Media/Design

There are several designs and media. I honestly like media. But in design there are several types of designs. There are diffrent fonts and even visuals are part of designs. Media is stuff like videos. I love videos much more then reading because I don't have to think while someone else makes the story and visuals for me.

Analyzing

Analyzing helps us think about something that happened. This is when the reader looks at a piece of wrighting and trys to look deeper within the righting. The reader trys to find the meaning for certain points and why this person feels the way they do.
